Our Mission  is to promote the growth and development of the community through the study, practice and performance of music.  We believe that by investing in the development of children through music they become ambassadors of peace, hope and understanding among people of diverse cultures, backgrounds and beliefs.

Community Youth and Family Orchestras

We are a community based family orchestra program, located in north San Diego County, California, and organized to provide opportunities for musicians of all ages to actively engage in making music in a performance setting. We provide free music instruction, sheet music, materials, and the loan of instruments for your student.

Announcing our new rehearsal and practice space!

Renaissance Institute of Music has found a wonderful new rehearsal home for our Orchestra Programs.   Renaissance String Orchestra, Renaissance Symphony Orchestra and Renaissance Chamber Orchestra have moved to:

Studio One at the California Center for the Arts, Escondido,
340 North Escondido Blvd.
Escondido, CA 92025

All classes and rehearsals take place on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Who:
Beginning to Intermediate (Song Belt Levels 1 – 4) string instrument players on violin, viola, cello or bass, aged 7 or older, and adults in their immediate family
Where:
Studio One at the California Center for the Arts, Escondido
When:
Allegro Strings  (Level 1 & 2) Required rehearsal
Saturdays
12:45 pm – 1:45 pm

Vivace Strings 
(Level 3 & 4) Required rehearsal 
Saturdays 1:45 pm – 2:45 pm
Bring:
Your instrument, or instrument loan is available at no cost
Provided:
Sheet Music, Instruction, Coaching, Leveled Orchestra Rehearsals

Renaissance Symphony Orchestra

Who:
Local orchestral instrument players on woodwinds, brass, percussion or strings, aged 7 or older, who have had at least one year of orchestra playing experience, instruction, and/or permission of the Music Director.
Where:
Studio One at the California Center for the Arts, Escondido
When:
Sunday Afternoon, 2:45 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.

Renaissance Chamber Orchestra

Who:
Advanced string players only, selected from Renaissance Symphony Orchestra and invited by the Music Director
