Renaissance Institute of Music, Inc.
A California 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation

Our Mission  is to promote the growth and development of the community through the study, practice and performance of music.  We believe that by investing in the development of children through music they become ambassadors of peace, hope and understanding among people of diverse cultures, backgrounds and beliefs.

Monetary Donations

Our programs are run by our Music Director, Kim Stephens-Doll, local orchestral colleagues and other volunteers that help us provide weekly music instruction and ensemble playing. These are currently unpaid positions. With the current growth of our programs we need to be able to hire and train assistant teachers to support our existing volunteer staff .

We currently need donations to:

  • purchase instruments, which are loaned to our students free of charge.
    • $300 buys a violin outfit
  • orchestral instruments such as percussion, used for performance of more advanced pieces.
  • purchase sheet music, music books and other supplies
    • $75 provides a new score and parts for a new orchestra work.
  • hire and train assistant teachers to support our existing volunteer staff .

We accept donations on our website through PayPal.  PayPal is considered one of the most secure on-line payment systems. As you know, there are charges to process credit card payments, and PayPal gives nonprofits a lower rate than our bank’s merchant account services. We receive 97.8% of your donation to fund our programs.

We will also happily accept old fashioned paper checks made out to “Renaissance Institute of Music” or “RIOM”

Our mailing address is:

Instruments

We gratefully accept donations in the form of instruments. All of our programs rely on providing instruments to every child, without fees of any kind. This removes impediments of participation due to family income considerations. While we have a good inventory of instruments, our expanding programs means that we rely on donations of instruments or funds to purchase instruments. If you have an orchestral instrument which is no longer in use, and would like it to be in the hands of an eager young musician, please contact us at donations@riom-sd.org
